Friends of the Allen Public Library is a volunteer-based, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting the Allen Public Library by providing the funds and planning for programs that would not otherwise be possible.

Susan continues to be re-elected to her role as President, and does an excellent job of coordinating our work across the Allen community.
Patty joined the Friends in 2018 and started out as the vice president. When the previous membership chair resigned, she took over this position. Patty is an avid crocheter and reader. She loves doing data entry types of things and supporting our local library.
Since joining the board in June 2025, Abigail has redesigned the website and assisted with electronic payment systems at our Book Sales. As an avid reader and lifetime Allen resident, Abigail loves the opportunity to continue supporting her local library.
Annual community project in which a book is chosen for the entire community to read and discuss. Activities include book discussion groups, an author visit, a movie, a play and other guest speakers.
The Friends sponsors a tote bag, coupons, and other themed goodies for adults 18+ who complete their Summer Reading log with five books read or 500 minutes of reading.
Offers gently used books for all ages, audiobooks, DVDs, and CDs at bargain prices. Currently located at Blue House Too in Watters Creek.
Keep an eye out for pop-up sales!
Audiobook subscription services such as Libby are possible in part due to our support.
We love to celebrate our library staff with lunches and surprise treats to say thank you for their hard work.
Friends of the Allen Library supports the VolunTeen program by sponsoring the End of Summer VolunTeen Party, an exciting evening of food, games and appreciation.
